Former Teacher Announces Bid Against Granberg

John Caveletto, former principal of a local highschool, has announced his GOP primary bid to take on Democratic State Rep. Kurt Granberg. He is reprising his 2002 House bid. Said he, "Our children deserve the best educational opportunities available," adding that, “I’m going to fight to ensure that our hard-earned tax dollars return to our community and not end up in Chicago.” Present at Caveletto's announcement, were, among others, Reps. Mike Bost and Ron Stephens.
Granberg, an assistant majority leader, and once considered a potential statewide candidate, was elected in 1987. He shares the district with Sen. John O Jones(who won both his prior House seat and his Senate seat by defeating Democratic incumbents) and Republican David Reis, who unseated Bill Grunloh in a high profile victory last fall.
The House R's have posted two articles on the subject: here and here.
