New solons Cheryl Axley in the Senate and Phillip Ramey in the House are being welcomed into the fold. Axley was appointed to the seat vacated when Dave Sullivan retired. Previously occupied as a real estate lawyer, Axley, 46, was a local elected official. Ramey was appointed to Sen. John Millner's seat in the House when the latter was appointed to the Wojick vacancy in the Senate. Ramey, stepson of former senate president Pate Phillip, had been defeated by Millner in a House primary three years ago.
