The Chicago Tribune on Rod McCulloch's indictment:
Rodney McCulloch, 33, of the 300 block of South Park Street, Westmont, has been indicted on charges of election fraud, forgery and perjury for allegedly turning in nominating petitions with forged signatures for Jim Gumm, a candidate for Milton Township assessor.

McCulloch acquired a reputation for brashness when he, then working for John Borling, "broke" the story of Jack Ryan's divorce records, by producing documents that were later thought to have been forged. The charges against him were brought by DuPage County state's attorney and maybe statewide candidate Joe Birkett. The McCulloch case was unexpected and could generate the type of headlines that would position Birkett for another run for the AG's office. It is still unknown if or when the grand jury will indict Bryan Dugan.
