Mr. Cal Skinner on the absurdity that is maybe-gubernatorial candidate Andy Martin. Among other things, Martin pontificates on the fact that his family is part of Maltese royalty and presents a very creative explanation of why he never got admitted to the Illinois bar. He must, however, practice in other states because he identifies himself as a "public interest lawyer."

Here
and in other places Martin provides some rather interesting written political commentary, assuring us that, among other things, "I have never patronized a prostitute." See, I knew he had something going for him. Says he, in a column dated November 5th of this year:
While I received 34% against Governor Rod Blagojevich, the leading Republican received only 41%, so all of the announced Republicans were separated by a mere 7% before the campaign really begins.
WTH? There are probably also polls that show Bozo the clown leading the governor, but, as far as I know, he isn't running.

Though he identifies himself as a "one issue candidate," he's no one trick pony. Martin's also a self professed "intelligence and security consultant." Too bad none of the "intelligence" rubbed off.
