Sneed ventures that venerate former State Department official Richard Armitage could be the source of the Plame leak. Other sources also report this.

Word is Richard L. Armitage, President Bush's deputy secretary of state from 2001 until early 2005, has surfaced as the possible source who tipped off Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward in the Valerie Plame/CIA leak imbroglio.

Armitage, a Vietnam veteran and graduate of the Naval Academy, was well-respected on both sides of the aisle. Seen as the anti-Bolton, he had been considered a potential nominee for ambassador to the UN.
