And the First Shall Be Laski

It seems that Jim Laski has become the latest to step into the umbra of a federal investigation's shining lights. His office is "in the process of complying" with the US Attorney's subpeona of their campaign finance records. It is suspected that Laski has ties to the one time Water Dep't regime of Donald Tomczack, now in disrepute. Laski's former chief of staff, Ray Drish, who resigned admist allegations of impropriety in his office, administer's both of the clerk's campaign funds.

Though the city clerk's campaign has a modest seventy some thousand cash on hand, it boasts over four times that investments in various Chicago-area banks.

The Sun Times has more on the subject.
